You are entering the most competitive, wildest, pro tree, heads-up drag racing organization in the Southeast. The rules listed were created with your safety as the number one priority. Also, the life of a class depends on keeping it as fair as possible. Use these rules as guidelines for preparing your vehicle for competition during the 2008 PTRA season. If something on your car is in question as to whether it is legal, call Atlantic Racing for confirmation. Being in the "gray" area could keep you from racing. Good luck in 2008.
2008 Rules, General Regulations, Points & Number System

Rule updates and clarifications

1.  True Street-Fogger style nitrous plates or "perimeter" style nitrous plates are legal as long as no part of the plumbing or nozzles break the plane of the bottom of the plate itself. Racers be prepared to remove plate for inspection if need arises. Remember, no other systems are allowed on the car. Only nozzles from additional system may remain in intake but must be capped off.

2.  True Street-Only true -4 braided AN line allowed.  Any other type nitrous line will not be allowed.  If in question, then a limited quantity of 10 to 14 foot long legal -4 lines may be available for use from PTRA tech.

3.  Top Street and True Street-gasoline only. No methanol, ethanol, or E-85 allowed.

4.  6.00 and 7.00-No timers of any kind may be used for throttle stops, timing retards, or nitrous activation.  Timers may only be used for shift point.  If entry has ignition system with multiple functions, then slew rate and all timers must be rendered inoperable (unplugged).  Cars may be checked at anytime on or off the track.  No progressive controllers.  RPM switches are allowed.

5.  Top Street and True Street-Drivers will be expected to alternate lanes during the two rounds of qualifying.

6.  All Classes-Maximum length of front end is 43 inches measured from center point of spindle to the edge.  Entire surface of vehicle must be at least 3 inches above ground from tip of front end to within 12 inches rear of front tires.  This is the same guideline used by IHRA.

7.  All Classes-During open practice, when the announcement is made that lanes are closed, do not enter staging.  The lanes will be run out and qualifying will begin with True Street.

8.  Top Street-All modular style engine equipped entries with a legal single power adder will be required to weigh 2900 pounds.

9.  All Classes-Racers may be given a one race grace period on certain NON PERFORMANCE enhancing requirements for hardship cases at the discretion of tech officials.
